Voter ID

As reading the blog of my colleague Emily Velazquez, I agreed with  her that having ID that make you eligible to vote are unnecessary. As we know that Texas is ranking near the bottom of the vote turnout because of the “Real number” that required by States government. Showing ID is part of everyday life but generally, showing ID is a trivial matter for people of all ages, races, genders and incomes, but some small number of people lack current photo ID. I think that by making everyone giving an ID document is to frighten voter in thinking that there's a fraud problem ( voter fraud has always been a concern in American politics) so that they keep people who are more likely to vote Democratic (students, seniors, lower-income folks, minorities) from being able to vote. As well as there are people who used “Dead people” photos as an ID to vote. By checking or showing ID is only to protect eligible voter. Like Emily said that about 21 million people not being able to vote affect a lot of the number of votes that being counted. We had reason why there are some votes don’t want to vote is basically because it is a waste of time and they don’t care about the Government and politics. However, there are some that truly care and wanted to vote but were prevented from not having ID. We are afraid to let those who did not have ID to vote to prevent fraud but at the end we still have many convictions. Then I ask myself will this prevent felons from voting as well? College "Provider"- have to but HOW?

Funding- such an old topic for most university however, it is still a hot subject for most college students that are attending universities and colleges. By going to the school was not a big issue to think so much about before but now, it is a big deal. We have been hearing a lot of promising of providing for education but we do not see any of those promises happened.  I mean we all have question is “whether the state is doing enough, and whether doing enough — whatever that entails — necessarily requires more money” but guess what, we could never got the answers. I truly don’t understand why the legislators try to decide how much taxpayer should pay in order for universities and colleges going when those set their own tuition rates. 

Think about the students, if the state does not “provide” money to the schools when as much as they need then school will end up raising the tuition. Some universities asked for providing money straight toward to the athlete and what will happen to those students who needed the money for their academic? As UT Austin rates of tuition in the past compared to the present has shown such a big different. Think and imagine how much did the school received from just “in-state students” and how they spent it on other sources. If the cost for in-state students are already at a high rate, then what about the international students? I know studying abroad required money but people worked hard to study in the America in order to find more opportunity, so I think the America Legislator or the “provider” should either find the way to provide money or lower the tuition rate. The Government should do what they promised to and not just saying without doing it.

White House lied to us all ?

The TexasFred blogger posted an article about the Libyan attack “White House told of Libyan attack claim Sept.11” with such a strong opinion about it. The blogger gave his opinion and allowed people to decide whether to vote or not vote for Obama based on the Libyan attack that recently happened.

Fred did a good job of stating that White House, U.N council and Ambassador are all LIARS. Basically, the government claimed that they know nothing about the attack and making excuses to cover up. However, not just Fred but people now are really paying attention no matter what evidences they showed to us all.

He also pointed out believes about several issues that happened while Obama kept telling people to keep believing in him. It is somewhat related to the fight that has been happened in Libya. Mostly, he pretty much summed up how much the White House has lied to the Americans with such a vague evident. He brought up the Youtuber which is a good evident/point because it is considered as Media related to say that now; our world has more and more facilities that could help us getting the REAL information and not FAKE from the President.

Overall, I agreed that he did a good job of addressing the opinion to the article and how much the White House lied to all citizens lies and giving us the option of who to elect as President. However, I think instead of keep saying that the governments are all liars, he should’ve put a sentence or so a reference to his argument about how all are liars and already knew about the situation. In my opinion, I used this sentence as an evident for White House being a liar: “The document could fuel Republican efforts to show that the White House knew it was a terrorist attack”- it is an absolute evident which create a controversy. I believed that everyone had their own choice of choosing which political party to be with as Fred mentioned.http://www.texasfred.net/archives/18674

Religion is alive in public square?

 America is the land of opportunity and freedom, where we have the choice to believe in any religion and practice. Religion is supposed to bring people together and give us something to believe in. I also think that shouldn't "freedom of religion" include freedom from religion for those who want it? As the author argued about where Perry got his information and giving the facts and information of why people should have the right to have religious alive in public square and gathering to publish their own religious thoughts. Every state has its law for all citizens. You don't get to opt-out just because you choose to believe in fairy tales or any religious of your own. The laws governing the nation are those who created and established by local, state and federal legislatures.  To me personally, whoever practice and telling religions how to do something don’t expect anything from the state or local. People with “faith based” could still be treated equal whether they are Republican or Conservative. They would be able to use their religion as long as it’s not organized to impose the power of government or ideologies on others of different religions or no religious beliefs. As to my point of view and opinion, when Perry told the courts, secularists and leftists are trying to keep people of faith from the public arena might mean that one person’s religious freedom is another person’s unwanted religious intrusion as well. No one can deny any one who carries faith and their own beliefs when they try to sacrifice for the common good plan to compromise with opponents for the national good. Alive and Dead Voters

I found this very interesting article that is related to the voting about a month away, yet another voting rights battle appears headed toward federal court. As we know that there has been a big argument about the dead voters. The citizens received letters and asked to verify whether they are alive or risk removal from voter rolls. Harris and Travis counties have been receiving letters of complaining. As citizen, we want to vote and to make sure that we don’t receive any letter asked to verify between alive or dead. The Local or State should have the responsible to check or at least required ID in order to reduce the amount of letters. This argument has been going on for about a month before the election.
